This is a five day all-inclusive trip for only $699 per person. Everything is included from the moment you arrive at the resort until you leave. It covers all-day gourmet dining and open bar (both alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks), lovely accommodations, daily pickleball instruction, play, and court rental, day and night entertainment, cocktail party, and unlimited water and land activities around the resort.
This trip will be February 1-5, 2021 at the Club Med in Port St. Lucie, Florida not far from West Palm Beach on the east coast of Florida. The closest airport is Palm Beach International (PBI). There is a resort shuttle from the airport available for an additional fee (shuttle is only included in international trips). Advanced reservations are required. Another option is get an Uber from the airport. The ride is about fifty minutes. Alternatively, you can rent a car. If you do so, you will have a greater selection of flights to Fort Lauderdale or Miami airports which are one hour thirty minutes and one hour forty minutes respectively. Arrival and departure info.
Check-in on day one is at 3pm. If you want to arrive before three and use the facilities, they charge $20 per person. That gives you full access to the resort which includes meals and the use of all the resort amenities. However, your room may not be available until 3 pm. We will meet at the pickleball courts at 4 pm. Check out on the last day is 11 am. You can stay and enjoy the resort all day for no additional charge, but you have to have your belongings out of your room by 11 am. There are showers available around the resort and you are welcome to leave your luggage at the front desk until your departure.
A Typical Day 7:00 Breakfast 8:00-12:00 Pickleball - Drills, skills, and round-robin with players closest to your skill level 12:15 Lunch 1:00 Enjoy the activities around the resort 3:00-4:30 Pickleball - Open play (optional) 4:45-6:00 Pickleball- King of the Court (optional) 6:30 Dinner 8:00 Show, followed by music and dancing Pickleball activities in the morning are arranged by skill level and include drills, instruction and ladder league style play which allows you to play against other people with a similar skill level. Some of the skills that will be worked on during the week include dinks, third shot drives, and drops, serves, returns, volleys, and lobs. We will also work on moving on the court, proper positioning, and winning strategies. In the afternoon there is an optional open play where you can go to the courts and play games with whoever you choose. Want to get in a game? Just put your paddle up against the net post to play the next game. Interested in private lessons? Pros will be available to give private lessons in the afternoon for an additional fee. On day four there will be a round-robin style tournament arranged by skill level, where you will be assigned partners to make the teams evenly matched. There will be an award ceremony after dinner with presentations for gold, silver, and bronze medals for each skill group. Special Events We have a private cocktail party in the evening on day two with drinks and hors d’oeuvres. We have a reserved section in the restaurant for dinner and the option to sit together at breakfast and lunch. There will be an awards ceremony for the mini-tournament with medals and a paddle giveaway on the last evening. Deposit and payments The total price of this trip is $699 per person based on double occupancy. There are a limited number of single rooms available for a supplement of $50. Your deposit of $199 is due when you book today to reserve space (s). Two additional payments of $250 each are due 90 days and 60 days prior to the trip start date. Your deposit is non-refundable, however, if you’re unable to attend, you are able to send someone else in your place, as long as you provide fourteen days advanced notice. After that there is a $60 name change fee. If there are guests on the wait list you will be provided a refund minus a small administrative fee.
Included in the price of your trip is Club Med’s basic travel insurance which covers the cost of your stay at Club Med in case you are unable to attend the trip due to an injury that might prevent you from traveling, a death in the family, or similar.
